Overview

Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 71 is a poorly characterized protein encoded by the LRRC71 gene. The protein is defined by the presence of leucine-rich repeat motifs, which are commonly involved in mediating protein-protein interactions and are implicated in diverse cellular functions. Recent systematic CRISPR-Cas9 screening and machine learning analyses have identified LRRC71 as a component within functional networks altered in glioblastoma multiforme, which suggests a potential role in tumorigenesis and patient prognosis. However, its precise molecular function has not been elucidated, and there are currently no approved drugs or direct therapeutic interventions targeting LRRC71. The protein may serve as a candidate biomarker for cancer prognosis, but additional studies are required to clarify its mechanistic biology[1][7].
