The leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor, subfamily B, member 2 pseudogene is a non-protein-coding genomic sequence related by homology to the functional protein-coding gene LILRB2. While the LILRB2 protein acts as an inhibitory receptor on immune cells—binding MHC class I molecules and contributing to immune tolerance and regulation—the pseudogene itself does not produce a functional protein and has no direct biological, therapeutic, or disease relevance[5]. It is sometimes annotated in genomic databases for completeness, but should not be considered a drug target or involved in receptor biology.
