Target intelligence / Profile preview

Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor B2 (LILRB2)

Target
LILRB2
Molecular classification
Receptor, Type I transmembrane glycoprotein
01

Overview

Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor B2 (LILRB2) is an immunosuppressive cell surface receptor that plays a key role in regulating immune responses and maintaining immune homeostasis. It functions as an inhibitory receptor that regulates both innate and adaptive immunity by suppressing activation signals in immune cells. LILRB2 binds to MHC-I molecules (including HLA-G) and angiopoietin-like proteins, leading to the recruitment of SHP-type phosphatases and inhibition of cell activation. It is being investigated as a therapeutic target in cancer and for neuroregeneration after CNS injury.
