Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily A member 4 (LILRA4)

Target
LILRA4
Molecular classification
Type I transmembrane protein, Receptor, Immunoglobulin-like receptor
01

Overview

Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily A member 4 (LILRA4), also known as ILT7 and CD85g, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein selectively expressed on human plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs). It functions as an inhibitory coreceptor that modulates pDC function by forming a cell surface complex with FcεRIγ. Upon binding to its ligand, BST2/CD317/Tetherin, LILRA4/ILT7 inhibits Toll-like receptor-induced production of type I interferons and pro-inflammatory cytokines, contributing to the fine-tuning of innate immunity and potentially playing a role in tumor immune evasion.
