Target intelligence / Profile preview

Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily B member 1 (LILRB1)

Target
LILRB1
Molecular classification
Type I transmembrane glycoprotein, Receptor
01

Overview

LILRB1 is an inhibitory receptor expressed on a variety of immune cells, including B cells, monocytes/macrophages, NK cells, and T cells. It binds to MHC class I molecules and delivers inhibitory signals via ITIMs in its cytoplasmic tail, dampening immune cell activation. LILRB1 plays a role in maintaining self-tolerance and is implicated in tumor immune evasion, making it a target for immune checkpoint blockade strategies.
