Leukotriene B4 Receptor 1 (BLT1)

Leukotriene B4 receptor 1 (BLT1) is a high-affinity G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) for leukotriene B4 (LTB4), a potent lipid mediator involved in inflammation and immune responses. BLT1 is primarily expressed on leukocytes, including granulocytes, macrophages, activated T cells, and certain dendritic cell subsets. It mediates chemotaxis and activation of these immune cells in response to LTB4 signaling. The LTB4–BLT1 axis plays a critical part in both host defense mechanisms against pathogens and the pathogenesis of various inflammatory diseases. Antagonists targeting this pathway have shown efficacy in reducing disease severity in animal models with inflammatory conditions.
