Leukotriene C4 synthase (LTC4S) is a membrane-bound enzyme that catalyzes the conjugation of leukotriene A4 (LTA4) with reduced glutathione (GSH), producing leukotriene C4 (LTC4), the parent compound of the cysteinyl leukotrienes. These mediators play key roles in inflammatory responses, particularly in asthma and allergic reactions.
