Leukotriene D4 Receptor (LTD4 Receptor)

The leukotriene D4 receptor is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that primarily binds leukotriene D4 (LTD₄), a potent lipid mediator derived from arachidonic acid. Two main subtypes are identified in humans: CysLT1R and CysLT2R. These receptors mediate many of the biological effects attributed to LTD₄, including bronchoconstriction, increased vascular permeability, and promotion of inflammation. Antagonists targeting these receptors are widely used for asthma management.
