Overview

LHX2 antisense RNA 1 (LHX2-AS1) is a putative long noncoding RNA transcribed antisense to the *LHX2* gene, which encodes a LIM-homeodomain transcription factor involved in organ development, stem cell renewal, and cancer[1][3][5]. There is currently no literature specifically describing the sequence, function, disease association, or clinical relevance of an "LHX2-AS1" transcript. The closest well-characterized molecule is LBX2 antisense RNA 1 (LBX2-AS1), which is a long noncoding RNA and is implicated in several cancers as a prognostic marker and therapeutic target[2][6]. In general, antisense RNAs can regulate transcription of the sense gene via chromatin remodeling or transcriptional interference, but there is no experimental evidence reported for these processes specifically involving LHX2-AS1[4].
