LHX8 antisense RNA 1 (LHX8-AS1)

LHX8 antisense RNA 1 (LHX8-AS1) is a long non-coding antisense RNA transcribed from the opposite strand of the LHX8 gene locus. Antisense lncRNAs like LHX8-AS1 can regulate the expression of their sense gene (LHX8) through various mechanisms, including chromatin modification, transcriptional interference, and RNA stability control. Although antisense lncRNAs are increasingly recognized as important regulators in development and disease, there are no reported therapeutic drugs targeting LHX8-AS1, nor are there established disease associations or roles as a biomarker. LHX8-AS1 is classified molecularly as an antisense lncRNA and primarily functions in gene regulation[2][4].
