Overview

Light-triggered hyperthermia refers to a therapeutic strategy wherein a material (most commonly nanoparticles) is administered to a specific region (such as a tumor), and upon irradiation with a particular wavelength of light, it converts light energy into heat. This locally elevates tissue temperature (typically 39–45°C), leading to direct cell damage and/or enhanced susceptibility to other therapies. This method is widely researched in oncology for targeted tumor ablation but is not itself a molecular or protein target[4][5].
