LIM and senescent cell antigen-like-containing domain protein 3 (LIMS3) is a member of the LIM domain-containing protein family, which are characterized by having one or more LIM domains—a zinc finger protein motif specialized for mediating protein-protein interactions and not for direct DNA binding[1][3][6][7]. LIM domain proteins act as scaffolds or adaptors that organize multiprotein complexes, especially at sites related to the cytoskeleton such as focal adhesions and cell adhesion structures[2][7]. Although some LIM domain proteins are important in development and disease, LIMS3 is not established in the literature as a major therapeutic target, and there is limited or no evidence of its involvement in drug interactions, signaling pathways, or disease associations. Its alternative names, such as PINCH3 and variants thereof, refer to its putative homology within the PINCH family, which generally participates in cell adhesion and cytoskeletal architecture, but LIMS3 itself is poorly characterized functionally or therapeutically in available scientific resources[6].
