LIMD1 antisense RNA 1 (LIMD1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) expressed in human tissues, with tissue-specific and cancer-associated expression patterns[1][3][4]. It is transcribed antisense to the LIMD1 gene and regulates gene expression post-transcriptionally, including stabilizing LIMD1 mRNA through interaction with specific RNA-binding proteins[6]. LIMD1-AS1 acts as an oncogenic lncRNA in glioma, promoting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and its high expression correlates with poor prognosis in glioma and other cancers[3][4]. Mechanistically, LIMD1-AS1 is driven by super-enhancer activity, is regulated by CDK7/MED1 recruitment, and mediates activation of interferon signaling, partly through direct binding to HSPA5[3][4]. In other cancers such as lung, prostate, and melanoma, LIMD1-AS1 expression is also associated with disease progression and patient prognosis, suggesting its general role as a cancer-associated lncRNA biomarker[1][3][4][6]. There are currently no known drugs that directly target LIMD1-AS1, nor established mechanisms of drug interaction or major therapeutic safety concerns described in current literature.
