LIMS1 antisense RNA 1 (LIMS1-AS1) is a presumed antisense long non-coding RNA transcribed from the LIMS1 gene locus. Antisense lncRNAs typically regulate gene expression by interacting with their sense counterparts or with chromatin, influencing transcription, mRNA stability, or translation. While many antisense lncRNAs are implicated in cancer and other diseases, there is currently no published, peer-reviewed data specifically describing the function, disease relevance, or druggability of LIMS1-AS1. The related protein-coding gene, LIMS1, participates in integrin signaling, cell adhesion, and cytoskeleton organization, and is known to be involved in cancer cell survival and adaptation to hypoxic conditions, but no direct regulatory role of LIMS1-AS1 in these processes is established in the literature as of 2024.
