Target intelligence / Profile preview
LINE1 reverse transcriptase is an enzyme encoded by the ORF2 region of LINE-1 retrotransposons. It catalyzes the synthesis of complementary DNA from its own RNA template during retrotransposition. It has implications for genomic diversity, evolution, and disease, particularly cancer. Pharmacologic inhibition or RNA interference targeting LINE‑1 RT has shown potential anti-cancer effects.
