Target intelligence / Profile preview
Lipocortin 1/Annexin A1 synthesis is primarily induced by glucocorticoids and represents a key pathway for the anti-inflammatory effects of these drugs. Increased synthesis of lipocortin 1 leads to inhibition of phospholipase A2 and modulation of immune cell function, reducing inflammation.
Glucocorticoid receptor activation leading to increased ANXA1 gene transcription and subsequent lipocortin 1 protein production, inhibiting phospholipase A2 activity and modulating immune cell function.
