Target intelligence / Profile preview
"Liver and Spleen Harmony" is a TCM theoretical concept describing the functional balance between the Liver (responsible for smooth flow of Qi and emotions) and the Spleen (responsible for digestion and transformation of nutrients)[1][2][3][4][5][7][11]. A disruption of this harmony (often called Liver/Spleen disharmony) is believed in TCM to lead to digestive symptoms (such as bloating, fatigue, and poor appetite) and emotional disturbances (such as irritability or anxiety)[1][3][5][7][11]. Restoring harmony—using acupuncture, herbal formulas, dietary adjustment, and stress management—is considered crucial in TCM for the treatment of these patterns[3][5]. This is a TCM system-level diagnosis and NOT a molecular, genetic, or biochemical drug target in the sense of modern pharmacology. It cannot be mapped to a unique standardized protein, gene, or receptor.
