Liver Blood

Liver Blood refers to the physiological blood supply of the liver, which is unique due to its dual input from the hepatic artery and the portal vein (StatPearls, 2023). It is not a specific molecular target, receptor, or enzyme, but a complex biological fluid and anatomical compartment essential for metabolic processing and detoxification (NIH, 2022). In clinical pharmacology, liver blood flow is a critical parameter for determining the clearance of drugs with high extraction ratios, but the blood itself is not the target (PubMed, 2021). Furthermore, Liver Blood is a conceptual term in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) associated with the storage and regulation of blood volume, which does not map to a specific protein in modern drug discovery (WHO, 2022). Because it represents a physiological medium rather than a single druggable entity, it is classified as an incorrect or non-specific entry for a therapeutic target database. Consequently, it cannot be targeted by small molecules or biologics in the traditional sense of drug-receptor interaction.
