LIX1L antisense RNA 1 (LIX1L-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on human chromosome 1 (1q21.1). It is classified as an antisense RNA, meaning it is transcribed from the opposite strand of the protein-coding LIX1L gene. Antisense lncRNAs, such as LIX1L-AS1, are known to regulate gene expression at multiple levels, including transcriptional and post-transcriptional mechanisms, often by interacting with the sense transcript of the same locus or modulating chromatin states.
