Overview

LMX1A antisense RNA 2 (LMX1A-AS2) is a non-coding RNA molecule transcribed antisense to the LMX1A gene locus. As an antisense lncRNA, it could regulate the expression of LMX1A— which encodes a transcription factor essential for neural development—through mechanisms such as transcriptional interference, RNA-RNA interactions, or modulation of chromatin state[4]. While antisense lncRNAs have broad implications in regulation and disease, there is presently no published functional or clinical data specific to LMX1A-AS2. Its classification as a target is primarily molecular, not therapeutic; there are no established drugs, biomarkers, or disease associations relating directly to LMX1A-AS2 as of the current literature[4].
