Overview

LNX1 antisense RNA 1 (LNX1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the opposite strand of the LNX1 gene locus on chromosome 4[1][7][9]. As an antisense RNA, it does not code for protein, but instead acts through RNA-mediated regulatory mechanisms. Antisense lncRNAs like LNX1-AS1 are generally involved in the regulation of gene expression, potentially by modulating their sense gene (in this case, LNX1), altering chromatin structure, impacting transcription, or engaging in other RNA-based regulatory functions[4]. Although there is extensive evidence for functional roles of antisense lncRNAs in development, epigenetic regulation, and disease (especially cancer), no direct evidence currently links LNX1-AS1 itself to any established therapeutic role, mechanism, or specific pathophysiological process[1][9]. Its classification is as a non-protein-coding RNA of the antisense type.
