Overview

LNX1 antisense RNA 2 (LNX1-AS2) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand of the LNX1 locus. It does not encode a protein. Elevated LNX1-AS2 expression is associated with poorer overall and disease-specific survival in patients with lung adenocarcinoma, independent of gender or race. High LNX1-AS2 expression is also correlated with increased immune infiltration in tumors and may impact metabolic and immune pathways. Its function appears to be regulatory—modulating gene expression and possibly affecting cellular responses to therapy. There is currently no evidence that LNX1-AS2 acts as a receptor, enzyme, or direct drug target. Rather, its value lies in its potential as a diagnostic or prognostic biomarker in oncology, especially for lung adenocarcinoma[2][3].
