Lomustine

Lomustine is an oral chemotherapy drug classified as a nitrosourea alkylating agent. It is highly lipid-soluble and able to cross the blood-brain barrier, which makes it effective for treating brain cancers. Lomustine alkylates and cross-links DNA and RNA, preventing their replication and transcription, which leads to cell death. It is used as an anticancer agent, particularly for brain tumors and Hodgkin lymphoma, and is also used in veterinary oncology.
