Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1011 (LINC01011), also known as CISAL, is a nuclear long non-coding RNA composed of three exons and located on chromosome 6 in humans. It acts as a transcriptional regulator by forming an RNA–DNA triplex at the BRCA1 promoter, thereby sequestering the transcription factor GABPA and inhibiting BRCA1 transcription, which leads to enhanced cisplatin sensitivity in tongue squamous cell carcinoma models. LINC01011 is involved in mitochondrial fission and apoptosis regulation. In liver cancer, its elevated expression is associated with increased cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition, making it a potential prognostic biomarker and research target. Silencing LINC01011 suppresses tumor cell growth and induces apoptosis, but the mechanisms are still being investigated. It is considered a promising but experimental therapeutic target, particularly in cancer contexts.
