Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1084 (LINC01084, PWRN4) is a non-coding RNA gene in the human genome that produces a long RNA transcript (>200 nt) not translated into protein[2][3]. It belongs to the family of long intergenic non-coding RNAs (lincRNAs), which are found in genomic regions that do not overlap with protein-coding genes. LincRNAs, including PWRN4/LINC01084, function by remodeling chromatin, regulating transcription, serving as scaffolds for protein complexes, and stabilizing other RNAs[1]. They play highly tissue-specific roles in fine-tuning gene expression. Research indicates many lincRNAs are involved in cancer progression and may serve as future therapeutic targets or biomarkers[4], though LINC01084/PWRN4's specific disease association and mechanism have not been well established.
No established drug mechanisms directly targeting LINC01084; RNA interventions such as siRNAs or antagolincs have been proposed for other lincRNAs in experimental research
