Overview

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1132 (LINC01132) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that does not code for protein but is overexpressed across several cancers, most notably hepatocellular carcinoma and epithelial ovarian cancer[1][2][5]. In these contexts, LINC01132 acts as an oncogene, promoting cell growth, proliferation, migration, invasion, and metastasis. Mechanistically, it exerts its tumorigenic effects via the NRF1/DPP4 signaling axis in hepatocellular carcinoma and through a competitive endogenous RNA network involving miR-431-5p and SOX9 in ovarian cancer. LINC01132's inhibition suppresses tumor growth, enhances apoptosis, reduces cell migration and invasion, and can increase infiltration of immune effector cells like CD8+ T cells[1][2][5]. Recent studies suggest that targeting LINC01132 may enhance the efficacy of immunotherapeutic agents such as anti-PD-L1 antibodies in cancer treatment[1].
