Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1152 (LINC01152) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that does not encode a protein and is transcribed from an intergenic region, separating it from protein-coding genes[1][7]. LINC01152 has been identified as upregulated in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and is implicated in promoting tumorigenesis in GBM through several mechanisms, most notably by acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA). It sponges miR-466 and recruits the splicing factor SRSF1 to upregulate the oncogenic transcriptional coactivator MAML2, thereby activating the Notch signaling pathway and promoting malignant progression[2][3][5]. LINC01152's expression correlates with increased proliferation and reduced apoptosis in GBM cells, and it is found in both the nucleus and cytoplasm of these cells, with a primary cytoplasmic presence. Its function in tumors and diagnostic and prognostic value as a biomarker have been highlighted in recent research. While there are currently no known direct drug interactions or approved therapies specifically targeting LINC01152, it represents a potential therapeutic target and diagnostic biomarker in cancers, especially GBM[2][3][5].
