Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1182 (LINC01182) is a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA), a subclass of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) found in the human genome[1][3]. LINC01182 does not encode a protein but is instead transcribed as an RNA molecule longer than 200 nucleotides. lincRNAs, including LINC01182, typically regulate gene expression, frequently through interactions with DNA, RNA, or protein complexes involved in chromatin modification, transcriptional, or post-transcriptional control[4][7]. Co-expression network analyses suggest that LINC01182 is connected with biological processes such as cell adhesion, cell migration, and cell–extracellular matrix interactions, which are relevant to cancer cell behavior[2]. While lncRNAs, including many lincRNAs, are implicated in cancer and other diseases, there is currently limited evidence for direct drug targeting or biomarker usage specific to LINC01182.\n\n**LINC01182 is not a classical therapeutic target** (e.g., receptor, enzyme, transporter), but is of increasing research interest as a potential regulator in disease pathways through modulation of gene expression networks[7].
