Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1194 (LINC01194) is a long non-coding RNA that functions primarily in gene regulation and has been identified as a cancer/testis antigen. It is upregulated in several cancer types including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC)[1][2][5][8]. LINC01194 promotes cancer progression by various mechanisms, such as decreasing miR-655-3p expression to drive HCC and recruiting NUMA1 to stabilize UBE2C mRNA, enhancing the malignant progression of TNBC via facilitating ubiquitination and degradation of RYR2, resulting in activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway[1][2][5]. LINC01194 is considered a promising therapeutic target and a potential biomarker for oncology applications due to its restricted and upregulated expression in tumors as well as its involvement in cell proliferation, migration, and apoptosis[1][2][3][6][8]. As a cancer/testis antigen, it is of particular interest for immunotherapy development[3][6].
If targeted therapeutically, mechanisms might include inhibition of its expression or function to suppress cancer cell proliferation and migration, or to induce apoptosis
