Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1209 (LINC01209)

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1209 (LINC01209) is a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA), which refers to an autonomously transcribed RNA longer than 200 nucleotides that does not overlap with annotated protein-coding genes[1][3][7][9]. LincRNAs, including LINC01209, are members of the broader long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) family. They have been shown to participate in diverse regulatory functions such as modification of chromatin structure, stabilization of RNA, transcriptional regulation, and possibly enhancer function, often with remarkable tissue specificity[3][5][9].
