Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1265 (LINC01265), also referred to as OSMR divergent transcript (OSMR-DT), is a member of the lncRNA class located in an antisense orientation relative to the OSMR gene. Divergent lncRNAs like OSMR-DT are transcribed from promoter regions opposite to neighboring protein-coding genes, and are increasingly recognized for their possible roles in local chromatin regulation, gene expression modulation in cis, and perhaps broader transcriptomic regulation. They tend to have more complex promoter structure and higher expression than other intergenic lncRNAs, but the functions of most, including OSMR-DT, are not fully elucidated[3][4].
