Overview

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1273 (LINC01273) is a non-coding RNA molecule (>200 nucleotides) located outside protein-coding regions. It is highly expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma, especially in patients with resistance to the chemotherapy drug sorafenib, and correlates with poor prognosis. Mechanistically, LINC01273 acts as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) to stabilize and sequester miR-600, reducing m^6^A methyltransferase 3 (METTL3) levels, and thereby promoting drug resistance. LINC01273 itself is subject to m^6^A modification, which regulates its stability and degradation. It is part of a feedback axis (LINC01273/miR-600/METTL3) affecting tumor cell proliferation, autophagy, and survival. Targeting LINC01273 may enhance sensitivity to sorafenib, making it a promising focus for therapeutic intervention and prognostic monitoring[1][2][5]. If you require further knowledge on structure, tissue specificity, or additional disease associations outside hepatocellular carcinoma, current resources do not provide such data. No drugs directly targeting LINC01273 are clinically available, but experimental approaches are under investigation[2].

Mechanism of action

No direct drugs targeting LINC01273 are approved, but interference via lncRNA/siRNA may sensitize tumors to sorafenib and other chemotherapies; LINC01273 acts as a ceRNA (competing endogenous RNA), modulates microRNA (miR-600), and affects methyltransferase METTL3 activity
