Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1343 (LINC01343) is a long non-coding RNA located primarily in the cytoplasm of cells, functioning mainly by sequestering microRNAs such as miR-526b-5p, thereby modulating downstream gene expression, including genes like ROBO1. LINC01343 has been found to be upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma and is associated with enhanced cell proliferation, migration, and resistance to apoptosis. Its dysregulation is implicated in tumor progression and it is considered a novel biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis, though it is not regarded as a classic therapeutic “target” receptor or enzyme[1][2][5].
Acts as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) by sponging miR-526b-5p, thus regulating the expression of ROBO1[2]
