Overview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1348 (LINC01348) is a long non-coding RNA of approximately 1000 nucleotides composed of four exons. It belongs to the class of intergenic lncRNAs—autonomously transcribed non-coding RNAs that do not overlap annotated protein-coding genes. LINC01348 is notably downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC); its decreased expression correlates with poor patient survival. Functionally, LINC01348 acts as an oncosuppressor: overexpression inhibits HCC cell growth and metastasis, while knockdown promotes these phenotypes. Mechanistically, LINC01348 forms a complex with the splicing factor SF3B3, modulating the alternative splicing of EZH2 pre-mRNA and influencing the JNK/c-Jun/Snail signaling pathway, which is critical in cancer cell migration and metastasis. This lncRNA's pathway highlights its potential as both a prognostic biomarker and a novel therapeutic target in liver cancer. There are currently no drugs directly targeting LINC01348 reported in the literature or gene/protein interaction databases.
