Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1355 (LINC01355), also called HYPAL (Hypoxia Yield Proliferation Associated lncRNA), is a long non-coding RNA molecule (>200 nucleotides) encoded in the human genome. LINC01355 is substantially upregulated in hypoxic tumor environments, particularly in gastric cancer, where it is regulated by hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α). Mechanistically, LINC01355 functions as a ceRNA that sponges miR-431-5p, leading to upregulation of CDK14 and activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, thereby inducing tumor cell proliferation and suppressing apoptosis. LINC01355 has also been associated with modulation of the tumor immune microenvironment and activation of Notch signaling in oral squamous cell carcinoma. Its expression correlates with prognosis in several cancers, making it a potential molecular target for therapy and a biomarker for hypoxia-driven tumor progression.
No drugs directly targeting LINC01355 are reported in the retrieved search results. Mechanisms for therapeutic targeting would likely involve: Inhibition of lncRNA expression/function (such as by siRNA or antisense oligos); Modulation of downstream signaling (e.g., Wnt/β-catenin, Notch, or miR-431-5p/CDK14 axis).
