Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1386 (LINC01386) is a human long non-coding RNA gene transcribed from an intergenic region, not overlapping with protein-coding genes. Like other lincRNAs, its generalized functions may include chromatin remodeling, regulation of gene expression, and modulation of transcription at the local or global level. Most lincRNAs, including LINC01386, remain understudied, and as of now, there is no evidence linking LINC01386 directly to human disease or therapeutic mechanisms.
