Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1411 (LINC01411) is a long non-coding RNA gene that does not encode a protein but is transcribed in specific human tissues. It belongs to the intergenic lncRNA class, meaning it is transcribed from regions between protein-coding genes. LINC01411 has been found to be among the most strongly upregulated lncRNAs in lesioned compared to preserved subchondral bone in osteoarthritis, and also shows differential expression in OA cartilage and synovium, suggesting a broad potential role in OA pathophysiology across joint tissues[4][8]. The precise function of LINC01411 remains unknown, but, like other lncRNAs, it may play roles in gene regulation, either at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level, possibly influencing the expression of genes relevant to disease processes[2][4][8]. No interacting drugs, therapeutic mechanism of action, or well-documented safety concerns are currently known for this target.
