Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1476 (LINC01476) is a member of the long intergenic non-coding RNA family, defined as a transcript longer than 200 nucleotides that does not overlap protein-coding genes[1][3][5]. Like other lincRNAs, LINC01476 is transcribed from intergenic regions and is considered non-protein coding due to its lack of protein-coding potential. While individual functions of LINC01476 are not described in the current literature or gene databases, lincRNAs as a class participate in the regulation of gene expression, chromatin remodeling, genome architecture, RNA stability, and transcriptional control.
