Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1485 (LINC01485) is a cytoplasmic long intergenic non-coding RNA that does not encode a protein but functions in the regulation of diverse cellular processes. It is significantly upregulated in several cancers, particularly gastric cancer and colorectal cancer, where it enhances tumor growth, proliferation, migration, and invasion. Mechanistically, LINC01485 binds to and stabilizes epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) by blocking its ubiquitination and subsequent degradation, thereby sustaining EGFR/Akt signaling known to promote oncogenesis. It also acts as a molecular “sponge” for specific microRNAs (such as miR-383-5p in colorectal cancer), further enhancing oncogenic signaling through derepression of targets such as KRT80. LINC01485 is not a classic therapeutic molecular target (e.g., receptor, enzyme) but represents a possible non-coding RNA biomarker and a prospective nucleic acid therapeutic target in cancer research due to its key role in tumor progression[1][2][3][4].
