Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1508 (LINC01508) is an intergenic, long non-coding RNA located on chromosome 9q22.2 and is comprised of 1,030 nucleotides. LINC01508 acts as a regulatory molecule in cancer cells, particularly ovarian and breast cancer, where its expression is linked to cellular sensitivity and resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy such as cisplatin. Downregulation of LINC01508 is correlated with increased cisplatin resistance and poorer prognosis, while upregulation enhances sensitivity by suppressing the Hippo-YAP signaling pathway. LINC01508 is under evaluation as a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for response prediction and prognosis in cancer.
