Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1523 (LINC01523) is a human gene that encodes a long non-coding RNA localized within intergenic regions of the genome and is not predicted to encode a protein. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a molecular class involved in epigenetic regulation, RNA–protein and RNA–RNA interactions, and modulation of gene expression. However, there is currently no experimental evidence or published data showing a biological function, disease association, or drug interaction for LINC01523. Much of the scientific literature instead focuses on closely named lncRNAs such as LINC00152, which is implicated in various cancers and thought to have oncogenic roles. LINC01523 does not appear to be a direct therapeutic target or validated biomarker by current standards. Note: - If you intended to refer instead to LINC00152 (CYTOR, or long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 152), it is a well-studied long non-coding RNA with established roles in cancer, cell proliferation, and signaling pathway regulation. - For LINC01523, there is not enough information to consider it a validated target or a clinically relevant molecule at this time.
