Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1541 (LINC01541) is a human long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 18q22.3. It encodes a 3105 bp transcript and is mostly expressed in endometrial tissue. LINC01541 regulates cellular processes by functioning as a molecular sponge for microRNAs, particularly miR-506-5p, thereby influencing the Wnt/β-catenin pathway. Its expression is inversely correlated with miR-506-5p, and it modulates proliferation, migration, invasion, and apoptosis of endometrial stromal cells, notably in the context of estrogen signaling. In endometrial carcinoma, increased LINC01541 expression is correlated with tumor progression and angiogenesis (via VEGFA), suggesting its importance in disease biology and as a potential prognostic marker.
Not applicable; however, LINC01541 modulates gene networks by acting as a sponge for miRNAs (notably miR-506-5p), thereby influencing downstream targets such as WIF1 and pathways like Wnt/β-catenin. Its overexpression is associated with suppression of EMT and decreased VEGFA via repression of Wnt/β-catenin signaling.
