Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1544 (LINC01544)

LINC01544 is a long intergenic non-protein coding RNA located on chromosome 20 in humans. Unlike protein-coding genes, lncRNAs such as LINC01544 do not encode proteins but instead regulate gene expression at various levels, including chromatin modification, transcription, and post-transcriptional processing. LINC01544 has been mapped as a non-coding exon transcript variant and associated with CDH20 in GWAS studies[3]. Although the specific biological function and disease implications of LINC01544 are not yet fully characterized, the entire class of lncRNAs is increasingly recognized as important regulators in cancer and possibly other pathologies.
