Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1545 (LINC01545) is classified as a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA), a subclass of long non-coding RNAs that are autonomously transcribed, typically longer than 200 nucleotides, and do not overlap with annotated protein-coding genes[5][11]. LINC01545 itself does not encode a protein, and therefore is not a conventional "target" in the sense of being a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor[1][3][5]. LINC01545 has emerged in recent studies as part of multi-lncRNA risk models used for prognosis in cancers such as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where its expression forms part of a signature predicting survival and therapy response[4]. The specific biological mechanisms and roles of LINC01545 remain largely uncharacterized, but like other lincRNAs, it may participate in gene regulation at the transcriptional or chromatin level, with putative tissue-specific functions[5][7]. There is currently no evidence it is directly targeted by drugs, nor that it is a classical therapeutic target. Its primary value appears to be in biomarker applications for prognosis rather than in direct molecular intervention.
