Overview

LINC01554 is an intergenic long non-coding RNA enriched in liver, kidney, and salivary gland tissues[1]. It acts as a *tumor suppressor*, frequently downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma as well as other cancer types (NSCLC, LSCC)[1][6][8][9]. Mechanistically, LINC01554 represses cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, promotes epithelial marker expression, and inhibits EMT partly by suppressing Wnt/β-catenin and PI3K/Akt signaling[2][3][8]. In hepatocellular carcinoma, LINC01554 promotes ubiquitin-mediated degradation of PKM2, leading to blocked glycolytic metabolism and reduced tumor growth[4][6]. Its expression status correlates with cancer prognosis and may inform patient selection and risk stratification. Although currently no drugs target LINC01554 directly, it is a candidate for future RNA-based therapies and further biomarker validation.

Mechanism of action
