Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1589 (LINC01589) is a member of the long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) family, which are non-coding RNA transcripts greater than 200 nucleotides in length that do not overlap with annotated protein-coding genes[1][3]. LINC01589 is expressed in human tissues and has been implicated as a tumor suppressor and immune regulator, with higher levels correlating with better outcomes in patients with uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC)[4]. Genes coexpressed with LINC01589 are enriched in processes related to nervous system development and immune response, and its expression is associated with increased levels of immune cell infiltration including B cells, T cells, natural killer cells, and dendritic cells[4]. Low levels of LINC01589 predict worse clinical outcomes in UCEC, suggesting it may serve as a prognostic biomarker but is not a druggable therapeutic target or traditional receptor/enzyme[4][1]. Overall, LINC01589 influences tumor biology and immunity primarily via gene regulation mechanisms typical of long non-coding RNAs.
