Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1602 (LINC01602) is an autonomously transcribed long non-coding RNA gene located on human chromosome 19. It generates a non-coding RNA transcript longer than 200 nucleotides, classified as a lincRNA due to its position in the genome, not overlapping known protein-coding genes. LincRNAs such as LINC01602 are often involved in regulatory processes, including chromatin remodeling, gene transcription regulation, RNA stabilization, and enhancer-associated activity. Most lincRNAs, including LINC01602, have not been functionally characterized in detail, and little is currently known about the specific biological roles or disease associations of LINC01602.
