Loss-of-function studies indicate that suppression of LINC01639 leads to changes in the expression of genes such as TYMS, DUSP2, SRF, CXCL3, TNFRSF10D, BAD, FGF21, and IGF1 in hepatic cells, suggesting its regulatory role in hepatic metabolism, inflammation, and cell survival related to NAFLD pathology. LINC01639 is not a classical therapeutic target (e.g., receptor or enzyme); rather, it may act as a regulatory RNA in gene expression networks and is potentially useful as a biomarker for liver disease status. There are no known drugs directly targeting LINC01639 or established therapeutic mechanisms involving this lncRNA.
