Overview

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1671 (LINC01671) is a human RNA gene classified as a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA)[1]. LincRNAs are a subset of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) that are transcribed from genomic regions lying between protein-coding genes and are longer than 200 nucleotides[3][7]. These molecules do not encode proteins but can regulate gene expression through diverse mechanisms including modulation of chromatin structure, enhancer-like functions, and effects on transcriptional activity[3][5][7]. LincRNAs may perform cell type–specific regulatory roles and have been associated with disease states such as cancer, although the specific functional characteristics, disease associations, and therapeutic relevance of LINC01671 largely remain to be elucidated[2][5]. Currently, there are no known drugs that target LINC01671, and it is not established as a therapeutic target in clinical practice.

Disease associations

Potential role in cancer (referenced in studies of cancer prognostic signatures, but specific functional details in human disease largely uncharacterized for LINC01671 itself)

Biomarkers

Potentially, lincRNAs can serve as molecular diagnostic markers due to their stable expression and detection in disease states, including cancerLINC01671 itself is not yet established or widely used as a specific biomarker.
