Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1728 (LINC01728) is a human long non-coding RNA transcribed from an intergenic region with no protein-coding capacity[1][3]. LINC01728 is annotated in major gene databases (GeneCards, NCBI, Ensembl) as a lincRNA, belonging to the large family of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). These RNAs are typically at least 200 nucleotides long and do not encode proteins[5]. LincRNAs as a class are recognized for their roles in modulating gene expression, chromatin dynamics, cell signaling, and other regulatory functions; however, the biological roles of LINC01728 itself have not yet been elucidated through research studies. There is currently no evidence for involvement with specific diseases, nor for established pharmacological agents or clinical biomarkers related to LINC01728.
